Welcome

Jo Beth Jimerson is Professor in the Educational Leadership program and the William L. and Betty F. Adams Chair of Education at Texas Christian University, where she works with aspiring PK-12 school leaders as well as with students who are preparing for leadership roles in business and higher education. In 2021, she was recognized with the Chancellor's Award for Distinguished Achievement as a Creative Teacher and Scholar.
A former teacher and principal in Texas public schools, Dr. Jimerson is passionate about equipping the next generation of school leaders with the skills and tools they will need to serve students, teachers, and communities effectively. To this end, she studies ways to better prepare school leaders for the challenges of leading successful and healthy schools; this includes issues related to the constructive use of educational data, the principalship, instructional leadership, and principal resiliency. Dr. Jimerson has been referred to as "authentic," as an "exceptional teacher, scholar, advisor, mentor, and coach" and as a "highly distinguished scholar in her area of work" by former students who may or may not have been playful, serious, or sarcastic at the moment, but she is open to owning those compliments whatever their genesis.
